Why they call them SUPPORT Groups

Galatians 6:2 (The Msg) Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law.

Standing in the need of prayer for Scott:  Fluid drain from lungs shows an infection and his pain is building once again(could be from more ascites fluid refilling the lung cavity creating the pressure) more tests today to determine source of infection and possible thoracentesis to remove the fluid build up. Josh meets with his dr today for final discharge from hotel to home. So join us in the pra…yer chain if you are praying kind, visualization healing and thoughts if that’s how you roll. Thanks ahead for the tremendous out pouring of support in all the different avenues you have given. Sister Gloria is a home for the day and most likely head back tomorrow very early. Will keep all posted a when information is given me.

On a recent support group a member voiced a need but with the comment”I don’t ask often” ! Why is it we are so slow to ask for help and  support? I know we are all different in how we handle things and that is fine, be a pretty boring place if we were all the same”. Here is some dictionary definitions, I list #4 first in this matter:

SUPPORT #4 to sustain (a person, the mind, spirits, courage, etc.) under trial or affliction: They supported him throughout his ordeal. #1 to bear or hold up (a load, mass, structure, part, etc.); serve as a foundation for.

#2 to sustain or withstand (weight, pressure, strain, etc.) without giving way; serve as a prop for.

#3 to undergo or endure, especially with patience or submission; tolerate.

#5 to maintain (a person, family, establishment, institution, etc.) by supplying with things necessary to existence; provide for: to support a family.

I can’t begin to thank all those who have, are and are continuing to offer their support; to know you are not alone provides an element of comfort that I cannot express. I hope you do myself and your support groups the honor and privilege to return the favor.
