Update: day 13

Sunday, May 20 update 2012 believe it’s actually Monday morning now

I wasn’t online all day so I left no updates. Sorry about that.

It was a day of transitioning. What’s transitioning off of IV painkillers to painkillers by mouth. the major differences IV pain killers are almost instant whereas my mouth feel take as much is 30 minutes to 45 minutes to kick in. we’ve been working to regulate that window today.

Doctors may be looking at pulling my pic line just a little bit on Monday because now since they put in the pic every time I get up to walk or travel at all my heart rate races to 140 bpm to 150 bpm. That makes me feel exhausted to just go for 100 yard walk.

A lot of the progress is being made I am sleeping a lot my appetite is returning.

My sister Gloria spends the night with me making sure I’m comfortable and getting pain medications. My wife Robin spends the day is working and also being here sitting waiting on my every need

I am still having trouble controlling my bowel movements. And that’s more information than most you want to know.

I don’t mean to poop on your parade.

Nursing care at Leahy clinic has been 99.9% exemplary.
