An early morning peek in on brother Scott before heading back to Maine. Looking better than last night, when having a 10 pain level. He could leave those green swabs(often confused with the green pain button) behind and begin on clear liquids. Wanted to try standing a bit, which actually turned into his first walk of to the room door and back. May sound small but a big accomplishment on the road to
recovery. Sat up for about 30 minutes while the day nurse(Katherine Heigl look-alike) flushed out IV’s , gave instructions on his daily medicine routine and some yummy medicine!
Okay maybe not yummy but necessary.
Recovery will hold many challenges for both Josh and Scott. Thankfully they will have each other close for several weeks to encourage each other to do what is necessary even if it is uncomfortable.
Josh was able to meander down to Dad’s room and sit in on a Skype visit with sister/auntie Gail before the both were ready to hug their pillows for the night. May your sleep be peaceful ,pain-free and restorative.
Since I am not there for DAY THREE perhaps Scott himself or even Josh will take over the blogging(why even a possibility sister Shara could do that update for them). Scott mentioned to sister Gail that the next major prayer focus would be for no portal venous complications that can affect the new liver graft success(next 7 days most crucial).
I am praying for the next step.. stay strong and positive, and move, move move. love you both
You look wonderful on Day 2!!
