This liver stuff is expensive! I’m thinking Walmart should open some transplant departments. Maybe they could offer some coupons or something. I’d definitely go on double coupon day. 20% off would save me $100,000. Or maybe I could get one of those extreme coupon people to get it for me for free.
I’m very relieved not to have to be rushed through the process this summer. But, as much as we wish it were true, I’m not out of the woods. I’ll need a new liver … maybe this fall, maybe next year or maybe even beyond. I want beyond. I want way, way, way beyond and am praying for that.
Next up I have an MRI and then an endoscopy. An endoscopy is a procedure where they feed a camera down my esophagus to look at blood vessels. As a liver shrinks with scarring, the pressure increases in the veins that go to the liver. Then, they burst. That’s very bad. It can be fatal. So, they watch for it.
The MRI will measure a bunch of things.
I can’t believe I’m quickly approaching the $40,000 mark for all this stuff. Honestly, that’s becoming my major stressor. My ability to work has been limited so my poor wife is carrying too much of a load. I don’t like that.
I’m thankful for the web design work and understanding why I got that undergrad degree in journalism and advertising. So many computer techies are throwing together websites with no knowledge of design principles or copy writing. I enjoy redesigning and making people happy with websites that work. If you know anyone who needs a website or redesign, please refer me.
I’m also continuing to rebuild my photography business and am looking to shoot family portraits, senior pictures, weddings and events.
Please pray with us. I’d love to be healed of this disease. In the meantime, pray that this doesn’t wreck us financially and that the Lord supplies work for me.
Is the Walmart transplant division hiring?
