I love it when God just says, “Bam! Be Blessed!”

February weekends at ski condos in Maine are expensive. They’re tough to book too. After a really snowy week they can be almost impossible to get. Unless they are free gifts from God. Yeah, I said, “FREE!” That’s like a $1500.00 gift.

My experience is that God does stuff like this when He wants to encourage and build up the body. I’ve seen Him do it quite a few times on the front end of something new. That’s what really has me pumped.

We’ve got some young adults at our church who have stepped up and said, “Hey, we want to be part of something new if that’s what God wants.” They are people who are interested in seeking God’s direction and listening for His voice and asking “what if?” We were going to just have a meeting in my renovated garage. Not too thrilling at all.

Today it came. “BAM! Be blessed!” All of a sudden we’re clearing schedules, packing, throwing skis in the cars and heading for Sunday River for the weekend for free. Wow. That is so cool. Instead of meeting together for a couple hours we’ll be able to laugh together, eat together, play together and let the ideas flow. It will be relaxing, refreshing and renewing. Hot tubs here we come!

I have no idea what the Lord is up to. While we could just slip into doing more of the same without a whole lot of effort, I wonder if God has some creative ideas that are totally new to us. I’m pumped about the people God is pulling together because I know they are coming in pretty wide open.

The only thing that could make this any better is if we get there and find out we have no cell phone service. Ahhhh ….
